A review of The Artist Residence - Brighton
Last weekend my sister and I packed our bags, headed for the seaside and treated ourselves to a weekend away in Brighton. I've wanted to stay at The Artist Residence hotel for a couple of years so when we were booking our trip I knew we had to stay there. We stayed in one of their cosy double rooms and when we arrived we were not disappointed. The room was lovely and the toiletries were supplied by Bramley who are a brand I really like, I'm always so pleased to see their products in hotels. Any room that is stocked with Tunnock's caramel wafers is bound to be a winner with me, my sister loved that they had nice quality peppermint teas too. As we booked through the hotels website it meant that we were treated to a free breakfast each morning. The menu offered stacked pancakes (which I had both mornings), yoghurt, berries & granola, a mini English breakfast and plenty more! The hotel also has a bar called The Cocktail Shack connected onto it, which had some delicious cocktails on offer. I really wanted to try one called 'Charlie and the cocktail factory' but I just didn't have the time!
The hotel is beautifully decorated with lots of artwork everywhere, I fell in love with a painting of a hare in the cafe area. I believe they have artists come in and decorate some of the rooms on rotation so the artwork always changes, which I think is such a nice idea. The location of the hotel is super handy too, it's bang in the middle of Regency Square which is practically opposite the West pier and is only a 15 minute walk away from The Lanes and the main Brighton pier.
Finally, let's talk about the main event, sleeping. I can't fault the bed which had plenty of room for two people (despite how small it looks below) and had wonderfully fluffy pillows. We opened the windows before bed which meant that we were woken up by seagulls in the morning, but what else do you expect from the ultimate seaside town?
