Holy Grail Beauty Products

I love putting together fashion and travel posts, but in my personal life I really love make up. I spend an awful lot of money on trying new products, watching YouTube tutorials or reviews and keeping an eye out for the latest thing. I've mentioned a couple of times on here that I really try to buy cruelty free products where I can but sometimes it's not that easy, as so many beauty brands are owned by big corporations who sell to China. Sadly American and European brands who sell to China have to test on animals by law. I've included my current holy grail products and I'm sure you'll notice that they're mainly cruelty free apart from a few.

First up is a new favourite from Kat Von D, the Tattoo Liner, it's one of her most popular products and I can totally see why! It lasts all day, it's simple to use and comes off so easily. What's more, her products are all vegan and cruelty free. Following on a similar theme, I recently picked up some new eyeliners from Stila in two gorgeous shades (blue fin & lion fish). When I was a teenager I used to wear eyeliner in my waterline everyday and loved it but I stopped when I started university. I'm really glad I've found these two liners as I love the way it looks, plus they have a slight sparkle! Speaking of sparkle, I need to talk about the Tom Ford creme colour in the shade Sphinx. At first I hated it, I was really annoyed as it's not a cheap product and I quickly put it to one side. However one day I picked it back up and randomly dabbed it on top of an eye shadow and realised that it was actually beautiful, it's a golden pink duo-chrome colour and works beautifully with warm neutral eye-shadows, now I adore it!

My all time favourite perfume Chloe's Signature Eau De Parfum, but Marc Jacob's Splash in the scent Rain is a very close second. It's perfect for Sprig/Summer as it's so light and smells like Watermelons! I've also been testing out everyone's favourite perfume, Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf and I absolutely love it, I wasn't sure what all the fuss was about initially but it wears really well and lasts all day.

One of my new years resolutions was to take better care of my skin, I've been trying to invest in some higher quality products and get rid of make-up wipes once and for all. I've been a fan of Maskeraide sheet masks for a while, you can easily pick them up at M&S and my favourite  mask is the Beauty Restore, plus the packaging is super cute. For when I'm having a bad skin day (which seems to be a lot recently) I love using The Body Shop Himalayan charcoal mask, it really helps to clear up my skin plus it leaves it feeling really clean. I've had the mask for about 7 months and I use it at least twice a month and there's still plenty left, so you definitely get good value for money. The Body Shop always have amazing deals online too, I've never bought anything online full price!

If you have any cruelty free recommendations I'd love to hear them!

  2. It's so sad that most makeup brands still test on animals, when it is perfectly possible to create quality products without these tests. I was shocked when I saw that most high-end brands like Chanel or Dior test on animals - at that price, it might as well be ethical!
Kat von D is a brand I really need to try out at some point. The liner seems great, and it would probably encourage it to use liner more often!
