I love putting together fashion and travel posts, but in my personal life I really love make up. I spend an awful lot of money on trying new products, watching YouTube tutorials or reviews and keeping an eye out for the latest thing. I've mentioned a couple of times on here that I really try to buy cruelty free products where I can but sometimes it's not that easy, as so many beauty brands are owned by big corporations who sell to China. Sadly American and European brands who sell to China have to test on animals by law. I've included my current holy grail products and I'm sure you'll notice that they're mainly cruelty free apart from a few.
First up is a new favourite from Kat Von D, the Tattoo Liner, it's one of her most popular products and I can totally see why! It lasts all day, it's simple to use and comes off so easily. What's more, her products are all vegan and cruelty free. Following on a similar theme, I recently picked up some new eyeliners from Stila in two gorgeous shades (blue fin & lion fish). When I was a teenager I used to wear eyeliner in my waterline everyday and loved it but I stopped when I started university. I'm really glad I've found these two liners as I love the way it looks, plus they have a slight sparkle! Speaking of sparkle, I need to talk about the Tom Ford creme colour in the shade Sphinx. At first I hated it, I was really annoyed as it's not a cheap product and I quickly put it to one side. However one day I picked it back up and randomly dabbed it on top of an eye shadow and realised that it was actually beautiful, it's a golden pink duo-chrome colour and works beautifully with warm neutral eye-shadows, now I adore it!
My all time favourite perfume Chloe's Signature Eau De Parfum, but Marc Jacob's Splash in the scent Rain is a very close second. It's perfect for Sprig/Summer as it's so light and smells like Watermelons! I've also been testing out everyone's favourite perfume, Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf and I absolutely love it, I wasn't sure what all the fuss was about initially but it wears really well and lasts all day.
One of my new years resolutions was to take better care of my skin, I've been trying to invest in some higher quality products and get rid of make-up wipes once and for all. I've been a fan of Maskeraide sheet masks for a while, you can easily pick them up at M&S and my favourite mask is the Beauty Restore, plus the packaging is super cute. For when I'm having a bad skin day (which seems to be a lot recently) I love using The Body Shop Himalayan charcoal mask, it really helps to clear up my skin plus it leaves it feeling really clean. I've had the mask for about 7 months and I use it at least twice a month and there's still plenty left, so you definitely get good value for money. The Body Shop always have amazing deals online too, I've never bought anything online full price!
If you have any cruelty free recommendations I'd love to hear them!

I've never been the type of girl to fake
tan however after missing my tan from my holiday in Corfu, I decided to give it
a go. I wasn't sure about going the whole way and getting myself a spray tan
but I heard about Garnier summerbody moisturizer from vloggers Tanya Burr
and Anna Sacconne-Joly and felt that this could be the one for me.
I got brought this is the deeper shade
as I have a natural olive and thought this would be better for my skin tone. I
got this from Wilkinson’s for the bargain price of £2.50 but it is also
available from Boots and Superdrug for a slightly higher price. I'm always on
the look out and researching into more affordable products that are still great
quality so I was really pleased when I found this product with such a good price
tag!
What I like about this product is that is doesn't have a horrible fake
tan smell to it which most products do even other gradual tan products like the
Johnson's Holiday Skin body lotion. It says it has an apricot scent to it and I would
have to agree it’s very fruity and summery which is great for this time of the
year.
The application and how I found using
this product:
Before applying the product you will
want to have exfoliated to get rid of any dead or dry skin the product may
cling on to. I find the easiest was to do this is to use my body shop body
scrub and to also use a shower puff which you can really cheap from most supermarkets
or chemists. Then moisturize you legs a little let that soak in and then apply
the gradual tan just so you get the best effect from the product.
Just to give you an idea of what the product look likes.
After the first time using it (I put it on before I went to sleep) I noticed a difference already, which was quite a surprise, as I wasn't expecting to be so effective so quickly. I was left with a really nice subtle glow and I was really pleased with the effects. I continued to use this for 2-3 more nights until I felt I had the look I wanted. The tan lasted after this for around 4-6 days even after using a body scrub. Overall I'm really pleased with this product and definitely would recommend it if you're looking for a short-term tan. Let me know if you use a gradual tanner or another type of fake tan, i'm interested to know what other people are using and how they get on!
As beauty or food posts seem to be my most popular I thought
I would share with you some of my top beauty tips at very affordable prices. As
a student and beauty product lover managing your money isn't always the easiest
of tasks especially when there are so many new products coming out every week!
So here are a few of my favourite beauty secrets
- My favourite thing to take my make-up off with is Simple baby wipes (they're currently buy one get one free at boots), I have quite sensitive skin and a lot of make-up wipes and cleansers tend to break me out or give me a rash (even the simple make-up wipes do!) I came across these baby wipes by complete chance and thought I would give them a go and they're fantastic! They take my make-up off very easily, they don't tend to dry out in the packet so there's always enough moisture and aren't scratchy, and best of all, you can get them anywhere for about £1.
- Vaseline - this product is an all-time beauty blogger and editors classic, it's such a versatile product can be used to not only hydrate lips but any really dry parts of your body such as elbows, knees or knuckles. I like to use this product every now and again on my eyelashes to help them grow, I don't know if this is just a myth that it helps your eyelashes grow, but whenever I use this my eye area and eyelashes feel really soft.
- Conditioner- Another product I use because I have sensitive skin is hair conditioner, but using it as “shaving foam". Using the conditioner is great as you can get conditioner for under a pound in boots (I tend to go for the conditioner that's part of the essential range), it makes your legs so smooth, moisturised and is just really easy to use when shaving.
- Spots are really annoying and if you're not sure whether to squeeze it (I don't recommend this it leaves scaring) or just to leave it, put a small amount of toothpaste on your spot to dry it out overnight and the next day it should be rid of any unfortunate puss you may have.
- If you have thin lips or just want to make your lips appear fuller use a shimmery eye-shadow in the centre of your lips after using lipstick and blend in well to create the illusion.
