I've not done one of these for a very long time, so I thought this weeks blog post could be a Spring/April favourites! There's no theme to this favourites, just things I've been loving lately. Sex and The City:
Recently my sister came home from uni for the Easter break and we decided to have a girly evening in and see what Carrie and the girls were up to in NYC. I've seen the series before but it's fair to say we both become quickly obsessed (again). I've been all about wearing hoops and my name necklace ever since...
Rainbow bikinis:
Oh look, I'm talking about Lazy Oaf again. I honestly should invest in this company as I buy from them all of the time. A few weeks ago I saw they were launching their swimwear range and I wanted something from the collection last year but just couldn't justify it but then until I saw this! I really wanted a rainbow bikini for my holiday year and when I saw this in the preview for the range I was so excited! The colours are so bright and fun, I don't care that it's a bit of a throwback to my 90s childhood (or maybe that's why I love it so much)!
Skincare:
As you may or may not know I've been having a bit of a tricky time with my skin recently. I've tried a few different masks, face washes and exfoliants and I just wasn't having much luck. During a little trip to Boots I picked up this brush from Botanics and have been using it with this Caudalie foaming face wash (which at first I really didn't like). During the last couple of weeks I've really noticed a difference, my breakouts don't seem to be as half as bad and they seem to be fading quicker too. I can't say it's cured it my breakout issues completely but it's definitely helping right now.
Diary:
Last year I kept a scrapbook and absolutely loved it, it was so nice to look back at the end of 2016 at all of the lovely things I'd done in that year. Sometimes it's easy to get down in the dumps by what you're not doing but this really helped me to see how many adventures I'd been on and the fun things I'd done. So this year I've decided to regress back to my 14 year old self and keep a diary. I spend 10 minutes a day reflecting on what I'd been up to that day, whether it was positive or negative. I'd really recommend doing this, it's nice to have some time away from my phone or laptop. I'm looking forward to the end of the year and seeing what was going on then or even going through it again in a few years time!
Instax camera & film:
Following on from my previous love, my instax camera is something that I've had for a few years and absolutely adore it. I used it so much when putting together my scrapbook last year and I feel sad that I've only used it twice this year so far! I spend far too much money on buying super Kawaii instax film from Hong Kong but I just have to make sure I have a good stock of hello kitty film you know?

Unfortunately the grey weather and need to be asleep for most of the weekend means that there's no fashion or lifestyle post this week. I can't be the only one who's struggling to leave their warm cosy bed every morning. I can totally see why hedgehogs hibernate during the winter, it just makes total sense.
However I do love putting together these little Instagram round ups, they're not my most popular posts but they're one of my favourites to write. I think it's a lovely way to see what you've been up to in the last few months and remind you of all of the fun things you've done. Which meant that I was reminded of my wonderful trip to New York, I'm desperately wishing I was back there. New York in autumn just seems to be the perfect time to visit. The weather is still a little warm, they go Halloween mad during October, there's not quite as many tourists, Central Park is beginning to shed its leaves for winter and let's not forget the Columbus Day sales!
The rest of my photos are a little round up of my Autumn so far, it's all looking pretty cosy, which is just the way I like it. One of my favourite things about the end of the year is all of the fun things I get up to with my friends. It's the perfect excuse to find a great table, order some amazing food and have a good giggle over a drink or two. If all else fails, I revert to my teenage years and have a sleepover, which is where I was treated to these amazing pancakes from Liv. I also don't post many photos of myself on Instagram (unless I've published a blog post) but I wanted to share this one on Instagram as I was really pleased with how the whole blog post came out, if you missed it you can take a little look here!

Last weekend it felt like summer was finally here, so after a few days filled with food, friends and sunshine I took the opportunity to put together this look and photograph it. After hoping every evening that it wouldn't be too cold, too wet or windy (#workingbloggerproblems) I leapt at the chance to finally doing an outfit post. I’m not one to make much of a statement with my outfits. I tend to wear what I like rather than wear what’s hot on the catwalk, that doesn't mean that I don’t love all of the fashion weeks because I really do. I’m really passionate about the industry but I just don’t feel like I’ve got the body shape for boho midi skirts, nude body suits and culottes, and I’m ok with that. However two weeks ago I spotted this skirt in H&M and knew right away I had to try it on, I thought it was such a versatile piece that I could wear to work or with some tasselled ankle boots at a festival. Despite its neutral colour palette it's not exactly the most demure of skirts, with the bold strips of fabric, tassels and silver thread running through, but sometimes you've just got to go for it. It’s been a while since I bought anything from H&M and I was seriously impressed. As a teenager I used to love going in and finding as many diamond/spotty prints as possible, If you've not guessed I was a bit of an emo. I loved their recent Coachella collaboration and I very nearly picked up the maxi dress from the collection but unfortunately it was just a little bit too long. So with a new found love for H&M, I picked up a few other pieces to add to my bursting wardrobe and happily hopped on a bus home.
Last Wednesday I popped
along to one of the Biscuiteers icing late classes at their new shop on the Northcote road. I was treated to a glass or two of bubbly, a set of 5 biscuits decorated by yours truly and a pretty illustrated apron. The class itself lasted for just under an hour and a half and in that time you're taught how to ice biscuits in the true Biscuiteers style. George who was leading the class was a great teacher and was always willing to help you no matter how wrong your biscuits went! It's much harder than you think! I would need a good few hours practice until I got the hang of it, (I don't know how they do it).
As you may or may not know I interned at the Biscuiteers HQ for two months during the Christmas period so this was a lovely chance to surround myself with biscuits again! As I'm sure you'll agree the shop is absolutely stunning, you can really tell they care about the presentation of the brand as everything is displayed so beautifully. I would really recommend taking a trip over there if you live in the area as there are so many lovely biscuits to look at, and they have a cafe serving loads of tasty cakes. If you fancy having a go yourself the classes are priced at £42 and are available at both the Northcote Road and their Notting Hill boutiques. I think they would be a great idea for a hen party, birthday or simply if you fancy treating yourself!

Last week when the sun was shining I went to my local park with three of my university gal pals for a picnic and some cheeky alcoholic drinks. We took a well deserved break from the stress of third year exams and coursework to catch up and have some fun. We had such a fun afternoon/evening and I'll definitely be doing it again as soon as the sun comes out! This is the perfect activity to do if you're a student like me and on a bit of a budget to do something fun with your friends or need date inspiration. I've had these cute pink paper straws and popcorn boxes sitting in my room for ages and this was the perfect excuse to use them (I got mine from Ebay)! We ate, laughed and drank until the sun began to set and it got too cold for us to bear, and decided to go back home where we continued to talk the night away...
