Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons palette

If you're interested in all things beauty then I'm sure you would have scrolled past this palette on your Instagram feed once or twice already. However if you're not a beauty junkie let me introduce you to the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons eye-shadow palette. There are 16 dreamy shades all of which have a delicate chocolate smell, presented in a beautiful sugary pink tin which is bound to perk up any dressing table. Now, lets talk about the shadows, there are a couple of the pink shades which I don't think I'd wear on a day to day basis, however I think they could be really fun to experiment with for a fancy dress look or if you were going to a festival. My favourite colours from the collection are Almond Truffle (matte), Bordeaux (matte), Blackcurrant (shimmer), Earl Grey (shimmer- which swatched beautifully), Sprinkles (Subtle glitter/shimmer) and Satin sheets (shimmer). I'm sure you'll see me wearing these eye-shadows in plenty of blog posts this year, and I'll be sure to let you know if I am!
I'm a huge Too Faced fan, as all of their products are cruelty free and many are vegan. As a vegetarian I'm trying to make more of an effort to have only cruelty free make up and if it's vegan than that's even better! This palette also contains no parabens, which is nasty preservative chemical that cosmetic companies use to keep products from going off. I'm really excited to see what products Too Faced have coming out in the next year, as I've loved everything I've tried so far! I've got my eyes on the Sweet Peach palette when it launches later on in the UK this year, the colours look so pretty and perfect for the summer.

*This product was sent to me, however all thoughts are my own! I love Too Faced!

I've been meaning to do an updated "what's in my make up bag" for a while as I've changed quite a few pieces in my collection. The make up that I've included in the post is what I'll usually be wearing in my posts, staple products I really love and what I wear on a day to day basis.

Lips: I tend to always have my trusty Carmex with me to keep my lips hydrated on the go and two coloured lips products. For some reason my favourite lipstick (Asia by Rimmel) wasn't in there when I decided to photograph my bits for this post, but it's a really pretty pink/brown nude shade. Along side that I have one of Rimmel's Apocalips lip lacquers in the shade Celestial. All of which you can find pretty easily at your local Superdrug or Boots for my UK readers.

Face (base): Maybelline's BB cream is my favourite product to use on my skin, it gives me a bit of coverage, has SPF 30 and I find it really moisturising too. I'm quite lucky with my skin as it tends to be quite clear and if I do need some extra coverage on those bad days, I'll use Vichy's derma-blend foundation. In comparison to my BB cream the coverage I get from this is pretty full on so I'll only use it in areas that need it or I'll wear it for a night out. This will come as no surprise to many beauty bloggers out there that my favourite concealer is Collection's lasting perfection, I have gone through so many of these and I will continue to until they no longer make it.

Face (bronzer): For summer I tend to always gravitate towards bronzers more when putting on my make up, I prefer to use bronzer to blush as a whole as I just think it looks better on me. I have a 17 bronzer which I love but was limited edition so I think it's no longer available but boots make a similar one every year. What  I love about this bronzer is that the gold and bronze detailing goes all the way to the pan and doesn't rub off after a few times. Another beauty blogger classic is the Bourjous bronzing powder, which is a great shade for contouring the face. Although not technically a bronzer Benefit's Sun Beam provides a great golden glow.

Eyes: When putting on my make up my favourite part to do is my eyes, so it comes as no surprise that the biggest collection I have in my make up bag is eye products. I have two of my favourite eyeliners one being Maybelline's gel liner and the other is L'Oreal's super liner, both products are great for top liner and you can work the gel liner into you waterline too. After trying a few mascara's out I've gone back to using my favourite mascara which is Clinique's high impact. After carrying round my Sleek "original" palette with me for a while I thought it was time to change things up so when I received the Urban Decay's naked basic palette for my birthday I popped it straight into my make up bag. I can tell already that I'm going to get a lot of use out of this and I've only heard good things about it. For eyebrows I use Boots' Natural Collection duo eye shadow in the combination mocha latte which works perfectly and I've been using it for years.

Tools: My three main brushes I use are the E.L.F defining eye brush, Ruby & Mille's angled brush (who's range has very sadly been discontinued) and Clinique's double ended face/contour brush which I can't find online anywhere. On top of this I'll usually have a pair of tweezers and the Real Techniques shading brush. All of which are fantastic.

I'd love to know what you have in your make up bag or if you've tried out any of these products and what you think!

If you've been following my blog since its started you may have noticed that I love Kelly Brook. So when I heard New Look were releasing a make-up line with her I was very excited. The combination of two of my favourite things how could I not be?! That's without mentioning the extremely cute packaging, polka dots, bows and rose gold, it's every girls dream. For a celebrity line this make up is VERY reasonable I got both of these products for £5.38 (with student discount) which I think is a really great price, they would make lovely stocking fillers or secret Santa gifts. The line includes; a mascara, a brow kit, nail varnish, lip-gloss, a highlighter pen, eyeliner, bronzer, blush and two eyeshadow quads.

So I went into new Look and noticed they had some of the products by the tills so I picked up a nail varnish and lipgloss. I picked up in the nail varnish in the shade Ace which is such a lovely sparkly black, which will be perfect for christmas parties! I'm forever adding a glitter topcoat on top of my nail varnishes, so for this shade to have glitter already in it is perfect. The varnish itself is pretty good, I only needed about 2 costs and I got good coverage, I got lots of glitter on application too. The line has loads of other nail varnish colours including a really nice navy called "A source says".

I'm not usually a lip-gloss kind of girl but this shade was just too pretty not to buy, It'll go perfectly with one of my favourite lipsticks (which is Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in Asia), I really like pink nudes like this. The lip-gloss smells very nice which is a nice touch as quite often lip products can have a bit of a chemical scent to them, this lip-gloss smells a bit like marshmallows which just makes me want to eat it! The only thing about the lip-gloss that i'm not too keen on is the applicator, I find it a bit awkward to use, I'm not too sure whether that's because the length of the handle or shape of the brush.

Have any of you managed to get your hands on any of this line, I'd love to know what you think in the comments below.
With so many make up products coming out every week It's hard to keep up with it all and even more challenging to test them all out. So after eyeing up this product  for a while ( excuse the pun) I thought I'd give it ago. I'd seen it been used in one of my favourites YouTubers the Pixiwoo girls video and if its good enough for them, then its good enough for me.

Maybelline have never been one of my go to brands when looking at my local "drugstore" for make up but as I was so impressed with their bb cream I was sure that this product wouldn't be too bad. Well I feel its fair to say that this product is pretty amazing. I'm impressed with it on every level the pigment in product is great, its extremely easy to use and its a great price. I was sceptical to try a gel liner as I've used liquid liner pretty much since day one of using make up. I've also tried another gel liner before which was from topshop and was pretty awful, it dried up so easily and just was so difficult and horrible to apply. Make up artist Tanya Burr said is that it was a great cheaper replacement for Bobbi Brown's cult product, the gel liner.

However the brush you get with this liner is actually quote good and works fairly well I haven't bothered to use any off my own brushes with the liner. I think for someone just starting off using eyeliner this would be a great starting point, you don't run the risk off getting the product in your eye and its stinging horribly. It's also easy to achieve the much loved winged liner look as the brush allows you to create great easy flicks.

This retails for about about £6.99 is available also in brown from Boots and Superdrug (UK)
I'd give this product a 5 out of 5.

As beauty or food posts seem to be my most popular I thought I would share with you some of my top beauty tips at very affordable prices. As a student and beauty product lover managing your money isn't always the easiest of tasks especially when there are so many new products coming out every week! So here are a few of my favourite beauty secrets

  1. My favourite thing to take my make-up off with is Simple baby wipes (they're currently buy one get one free at boots), I have quite sensitive skin and a lot of make-up wipes and cleansers tend to break me out or give me a rash (even the simple make-up wipes do!) I came across these baby wipes by complete chance and thought I would give them a go and they're fantastic! They take my make-up off very easily, they don't tend to dry out in the packet so there's always enough moisture and aren't scratchy, and best of all, you can get them anywhere for about £1.
  2. Vaseline - this product is an all-time beauty blogger and editors classic, it's such a versatile product can be used to not only hydrate lips but any really dry parts of your body such as elbows, knees or knuckles. I like to use this product every now and again on my eyelashes to help them grow, I don't know if this is just a myth that it helps your eyelashes grow, but whenever I use this my eye area and eyelashes feel really soft.
  3. Conditioner- Another product I use because I have sensitive skin is hair conditioner, but using it as “shaving foam". Using the conditioner is great as you can get conditioner for under a pound in boots (I tend to go for the conditioner that's part of the essential range), it makes your legs so smooth, moisturised and is just really easy to use when shaving.
  4. Spots are really annoying and if you're not sure whether to squeeze it (I don't recommend this it leaves scaring) or just to leave it, put a small amount of toothpaste on your spot to dry it out overnight and the next day it should be rid of any unfortunate puss you may have.
  5. If you have thin lips or just want to make your lips appear fuller use a shimmery eye-shadow in the centre of your lips after using lipstick and blend in well to create the illusion.
It's my 20th birthday in less than a month (27th June to be exact) and I was thinking about what I would like to have for my birthday, this list is a bit unrealistic but I can dream! I was thinking about asking for things for my bedroom as I am moving house soon and want to make my bedroom look really girly and cosy, but I think I can buy those things myself over the summer. A few things on the list I have wanted for ages and others are new found loves of mine. My top 3 gifts on the list have to be the Mulberry bracelet, Burberry Perfume which smells amazing and may even beat my  current favourite scent Chloe by Chloe and the gorgeous bronzing highlighter Benefit Sun Beam.

Burberry Body Perfume - £45                 Fred Perry Halter Neck Dress - £90

American Apparel Disco Pants - £70                            Jones + Jones Saffron Dress - £65

Benefit Sun Beam Highlighter - £18.50                             OPI mini ballet collection set - £12.95

I was really excited to try out this foundation as it promises to be amazing; it claims to remove redness, remove dark circles and to brighten your complexion. To be honest I don't think it completely lives up to its selling points, but the foundation does feel really nice, soft and light on your skin. I have an issue with having dark circles under my eyes so I was hoping that this would slightly remove some of the darkness but it has not. The other issue I have with this foundation is the colour, I have brought the lightest shade (51 - light vanilla) and it still doesn't completely match my skin tone, which is quite disappointing. Overall I have quite mixed feelings with this foundation, and this isn't the first time I’ve been disappointed with a Bourjois foundation (I brought the Bourjois Bio Detox Organic Foundation and I have to say that is the worst foundation I have ever used!) Im going to “pan” this foundation just to see if I change my mind half way through (as I am known to do this!) but unfortunately I am pretty sure I haven’t found my new favourite foundation.

 In the shade light

 With Flash

I was very excited about this product as I have been wanting to try a BB cream for a while but wasn't really sure about which brand to go for and what they really were. I first heard about BB creams through watching videos by YouTube beauty guru Miss Glamorazzi as she has tested out a few and raved about them. I didn't understand how they would be any different from a regular tinted moisturiser, but i soon found out how this product is very different.

BB creams originate from Asia and their original purpose was to protect skin after surgery or laser treatment, the BB stands for Blemish base. The reason why now nearly every skincare brand has released them is because the BB cream can do so many things, it can be used as a light foundation, a tinted moisturiser, primer and most also include sun protection.

I tried out the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream in the shade light, there is also the shade "universal glow" which is supposed to adapt to most skin colours but I think it would be too dark for me and may leave an unattractive orange tint on my skin. I've found two slight flaws with this product and they would be this issue of the shade ( I have the shade light) as it doesn't quite blend into my skin perfectly as I would like to and can leave me with a very slight orange "glow". It's other flaw is that you do need to use quite a lot of it to cover your whole face and it can dry quite quickly once it's out of the tube. So my tip would be to squeeze it out as you need it and not to squeeze out a big dollop at once. Saying this though I absolutely love this product, it's great for a primer and it means that I don't need to use as much foundation to give myself a good coverage. I also really like that it has SPF 30 in as I always forget to put sun cream on! So if you're like me this product is an absolute life saver.

The bottle states that it has 8 unique selling points; Creates a natural glow, Compliments skin-tone, SPF30 UV protection, Hydrates all day, Blurs imperfections, Oil free - non greasy,  Looks visibly fresh & Feels fresh. I really cannot disagree with these statements, the only one I have an issue with is the "natural glow" it creates, as I just find it too orange. However this cream has completely changed my skin, my skin is now so soft and it was definitely not that hydrated and smooth before I started using this cream. This product retails at around £7.40-£8, I got mine from my local boots for £7.99, if you're thinking about getting a BB cream but are not sure where to start I would highly recommend starting with this one.

Have you tried any other BB cream or know any you think are better than this? Let me know in the comments below!
