I love New look for underwear, you can always rely on the shop to have great fitting sets for great pieces. In particular I'm a huge fan of Kelly Brook's range and even own a few items from the collection myself. I expressed my love for this range in a previous post which you can read here. I've picked a few of my favourites from the site including some from Kelly's range. The first is my favourite and for both pieces it costs you £25 which is amazing for such a pretty set from a "celebrity" range. I love the lace detailing and the classic navy colour. The next set (which is also part of Kelly Brook's range) is this girly black and pink set which you can pick up for under £20. The sizing in the range goes all the way up to an F cup, which perfect for you girls who struggle to find nice bras in your size. The last is a really pretty floral set which you can pick up at the bargain price of £13 for both pieces! These are just a few that I spotted but there are so many more sets and individual pieces on the site and that can find from New Looks Lingerie range.

I thought I'd do a quick post and share with you an outfit I wore on a night out with my flatmates a few weeks ago. We took a trip to a local cocktail bar called Island bar, which makes some pretty lethal drinks, I had one Zombie (which came in a cute "pinterest style" jar) and lets just say the rest of the night is a bit of a blur...
I absolutely love this dress, I spotted it in the last chance to buy section, and picked it up amongst a bunch of other things I had in my hand and thought that it wouldn't really suit me. I tried it on and it was love. I practically ran to the tills.

The shade of blue is gorgeous and the embriodery is so pretty and delicate. At the bottom of the dress its partially cut out which I love! It will be perfect for the summer (when the sun feels like coming out again!) I decided to team this with my favourite frilly sock and heel combination and I think they work quite well together. I've also tried this with some of my favourite 40 denier tights and it also looks pretty good.
With my hand-in deadline approaching this might be the last post you see from me in a while (about a month), hopefully I can try and squeeze one or two in if things are going well! Check out my last post (here) to see what I've been up to, thankyou to everyone who took a peak last time, I got some really nice feedback!
I know in my last blogpost I said that I was meant to be being good and saving my money but I've made a few cheeky purchases recently, so I thought I would share them with you and let you know about some of the bargains I've picked up, I got 4 things for under £25!
Everyone seems to be loving frilly socks at the moment and I do too, I have a few pairs from Topshop but I spotted these in my local Primark and I had to pick them up, at only £1.50 a pair (I wished they had a few more colours!) I'll think they will look great with my next purchase...
New look brought out shoes very similar to these as part of their limited range last year and I fell in love with them but couldn't find them in store anywhere. So I had to forget about my dream shoes until I came across this pair on New Look via ASOS last week, they were having 25% student discount too so I think I got them for around £19! They fit like a dream and I can tell I'll be getting a lot of wear out of these.
(Please excuse how creased this top is, I literally took the photo as soon as I got home from the shops)
Lastly I picked up this boyfriend style cropped t-shirt from Primark for only £3, It'll be great for the warmer months and I reckon It'll go with quite a few things I have in my wardrobe. Although the top is boyfriend style they all looked massive when I held them up to myself so I would recommend going down a size.
I also brought a few beauty bits so look out for that post too! Also If you haven't already, please nominate me (iamdaisyalice.blogspot.co.uk) for Company's Blog awards under the category Best Personal Style Newcomer Blog here - It would mean the world to me!
If you've been following my blog since its started you may have noticed that I love Kelly Brook. So when I heard New Look were releasing a make-up line with her I was very excited. The combination of two of my favourite things how could I not be?! That's without mentioning the extremely cute packaging, polka dots, bows and rose gold, it's every girls dream. For a celebrity line this make up is VERY reasonable I got both of these products for £5.38 (with student discount) which I think is a really great price, they would make lovely stocking fillers or secret Santa gifts. The line includes; a mascara, a brow kit, nail varnish, lip-gloss, a highlighter pen, eyeliner, bronzer, blush and two eyeshadow quads.
So I went into new Look and noticed they had some of the products by the tills so I picked up a nail varnish and lipgloss. I picked up in the nail varnish in the shade Ace which is such a lovely sparkly black, which will be perfect for christmas parties! I'm forever adding a glitter topcoat on top of my nail varnishes, so for this shade to have glitter already in it is perfect. The varnish itself is pretty good, I only needed about 2 costs and I got good coverage, I got lots of glitter on application too. The line has loads of other nail varnish colours including a really nice navy called "A source says".
I'm not usually a lip-gloss kind of girl but this shade was just too pretty not to buy, It'll go perfectly with one of my favourite lipsticks (which is Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in Asia), I really like pink nudes like this. The lip-gloss smells very nice which is a nice touch as quite often lip products can have a bit of a chemical scent to them, this lip-gloss smells a bit like marshmallows which just makes me want to eat it! The only thing about the lip-gloss that i'm not too keen on is the applicator, I find it a bit awkward to use, I'm not too sure whether that's because the length of the handle or shape of the brush.
Have any of you managed to get your hands on any of this line, I'd love to know what you think in the comments below.
To many women and girls buying new underwear can often be
seen as a dreaded task. You don't want to get hot and flustered whilst trying
to find the right bra for you, whilst being restricted in a tiny changing room
where any minute you feel the curtain may fly open and expose you to everyone.
I understand I did not like it either especially during my younger teenage
years when going bra shopping with your mum was the worst thing ever.
However it now seems to me that having nice underwear is
just as important as having the right outfit and with so many shops now having
affordable lingerie sections there really should not be all this hassle it
should be something to love! In the last month two of my major "girl
crushes" have announced their collaborations with high street shops, the
first being the painfully Gorgeous Rose Huntington-Whiteley who is
collaborating with M&S. The second being the beautiful Kelly Brook (who is
debuting her second range for New Look.) Both of these ladies I am proud to say
are English and are showing us that you can still feel amazing in underwear
without having to pay a crazy amount at the tills!
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's collection for M&S helps
update the brand slight "mumsy" reputation and has a mixture of
gorgeous soft pastel colours, silk, lace detailing, twenties shapes and
styling.
Rosie says in her promotional video for the brand 'We’ve struck a good balance between being young and modern while still
being classic and sexy but it’s feminine. I hope people enjoy it in that
way.’ With regards to help designing the collection she says to have been very hands on when picking out the materials and how she wanted the collection to look as a whole, as one of the flawless Victoria's secret girls I am sure she is no stranger to knowing what fits and works well. With an impressive 33 pieces in the collection there is bound to be something for everyone. By the look of it she's done an amazing job and this collection is sure to be a sell out, the collection will be available from selected stores from the 30th August and online from September.
Kelly Brook's second collection for New Look promises to be
just as successful as her first. With pieces which contain details such as cute
polka dots, lace and the 50's as her inspiration, it seems the collection is
bound to be a success. With an amazing figure like hers Brook probably has her
fair share of not being able to find bra's that fit and support her properly so
this collection is available from a wide range from size a 34B to 36F. The
collection has also been designed to help flatter all sizes and shapes so the
vintage style pieces help to do so. Kelly Brook says "I am so excited
about my second lingerie collection. It’s gorgeous and feminine with a few sexy
pieces thrown into the mix. I hope everyone loves it as much as I do."
Selected pieces are already available to buy from the New Look website and will
hit the stores soon.
Are you excited for either of these collaborations? Let me know in the comments below.
I
brought this bikini from my current favourite high street shop New Look, for
just under £24 with student discount. I love it so much as I have
found with Kelly Brook's products with New Look they always fit me so well and
again this bikini is the perfect fit! I love Kelly Brook as she is a woman who
isn't stick thin and still has an amazing body and still manages to have boobs,
a bum and thighs, I just think she is a great role model for girls! So being a
girl that isn't a size 6 Victoria’s Secret model it's great to find these bikini’s
as I feel Kelly Brook would design something that she would want to wear. This
bikini is so flattering with the frills on the bottom part
to distract the eyes from any wobbly bits you may have and I love the
design of the bikini itself it's the perfect mix of the 50's and the current
trends, Navy also tends to suit lots of skin tones and looks great with a tan!
Here are a few more I like:
Pink Jumper - H&M -19.99 (brought last year), Daisy ring - Oliver Bonas - gift,
grey and black skull scarf - New Look - £7.99 & D necklace - Oliver Bonas - gift
I've been looking for a skull scarf like this for a very
long time and I kept on seeing people in London and Birmingham wearing them
with jeans, ankle boots and a leather jacket and it just looked so good! Such a
great way to make your outfit a bit more interesting. I'm not really much of a
scarf person at all so I was quite surprised when I found myself lusting over this
scarf. Of course this is a copy of the famous Alexander McQueen skull scarf,
but I got mine for an extremely small fraction of the price. The grey and black
colour combination is perfect for me as it will go with almost any outfit I
have. I love that the scarf is square and not rectangular as I find that they
sit so much better this way and they just give the look I want to achieve.
Unfortunately this scarf is not available online, I went to
my local new look and found this one there but there is this very similar one - Skull Scarf £7.99. New look has really impressed me at the moment with its accessories, they have such a good variety of styles and products for such affordable prices! Primark is also selling scarfs like this but in neon colours
which is very fitting for the spring/summer trends but I don't think I'm quite
brave enough to wear such bold colours quite yet. Maybe some of you will be a bit more adventurous than i am! (New look also have free delivery until Midnight 19/4/2012)
Whenever payday comes or my student loan delightfully pops its self in to the bank account the one thing I always end up buying is underwear! I am completely obsessed with it, it can just make you feel so much better if you are having a rubbish day and you know that you have your favourite bra and knickers on, (well this is the case for myself anyway!) There are so many good high street shops such as Topshop and New Look that offer really nice underwear sets or separates for a pretty reasonable price & both offer student discount. Here's a few of my bras favourite from the high street this week.
1. New Look £14.99, 2.Topshop £18.00 & 3. Kelly Brook for New look £14.99
Some more of my favourites but this time from a few more expensive brands, they were so pretty I could not help but put them in this post, my favourite from this lot has to be the Elle Macpherson Obsidian it's so pretty, I love the lace detail and the grey and dusty pink work so well together!
1.Elle Macpherson Intimates - Obsidian £65.00, 2.Ultimo - La Femme £34.00,
3. Agent Provocateur - Lorna £85.00 & 4. D&G - £72.00
(1,2 & 4 are all available from ASOS.com)
I hope this post has inspired you to go out and treat yourselves to a new bra or underwear set, I know come payday I certainly will.
